KampusList Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: January 2, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of KampusList (the “Platform”), operated by KampusList (“KampusList,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.
1. Platform Role — Marketplace Only
KampusList is a neutral online marketplace that provides a venue for users to post listings, discover listings, and communicate with one another.
KampusList does not act as a broker, agent, insurer, employer, recruiter, landlord, tenant, buyer, seller, representative, or fiduciary, and is not a party to any transaction, agreement, or relationship between users.
All transactions, arrangements, communications, and interactions occur solely between users, and users assume full responsibility for them.
2. No Verification; No Endorsement
KampusList does not verify and makes no representations regarding:
User identities or affiliations
University enrollment or status
Listings, pricing, availability, legality, safety, quality, or accuracy
User conduct or intent
References to universities, campuses, or locations are for descriptive purposes only and do not imply endorsement, affiliation, or approval.
You acknowledge that any reliance on information obtained through the Platform is at your own risk.
3. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
Maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials
All activity conducted through your account
The accuracy, legality, and completeness of any content you post
Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, tax obligations, and reporting requirements
Exercising due diligence and safe practices when interacting with other users
KampusList is not responsible for user conduct, outcomes of transactions, or disputes between users.
4. User Content and Communications
Users may post content and communicate via the Platform. KampusList has no obligation to monitor, review, screen, or pre-approve user content or communications.
We reserve the right, but do not assume the obligation, to remove content or restrict access to the Platform at our sole discretion, including for policy enforcement, safety, legal compliance, or operational reasons.
5. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use the Platform to:
Engage in unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading activity
Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm others
Post false, infringing, or illegal content
Circumvent safeguards, fees, or technical restrictions
KampusList may suspend or terminate access at any time and for any reason, including suspected violations.
6. Payments, Kampus Credits, and Third-Party Services
6.1 Third-Party Payment Processing
Payments on the Platform are processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe. KampusList does not store or process payment card information.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies. KampusList disclaims responsibility for their performance, availability, or actions.
6.2 Kampus Credits — No Cash Value
KampusList may offer virtual credits (“Kampus Credits”) that may be purchased or earned and used solely within the Platform for eligible services and features.
Kampus Credits:
Have no cash value
Are not legal tender
Are non-transferable
May only be used on the Platform
Except as required by applicable law, Kampus Credits are non-refundable and non-redeemable for cash, and may not be exchanged, resold, or withdrawn.
6.3 Limited Refund Exceptions
In rare circumstances, such as confirmed duplicate charges, technical errors, or payment processing failures, KampusList may, at its sole discretion, issue a refund or credit adjustment.
Any approved refund may take up to ninety (90) days to process.
6.4 Credit Modifications
KampusList reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Kampus Credits or related pricing at any time, subject to applicable law.
7. Third-Party Links
The Platform may include links to third-party websites or services. KampusList is not responsible for the content, security, accuracy, or practices of third parties. Accessing third-party services is at your own risk.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KAMPUSLIST DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND AVAILABILITY.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
9. Assumption of Risk; Release
You acknowledge that using a peer-to-peer marketplace involves inherent risks, including fraud, misrepresentation, property damage, personal injury, and financial loss.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS AND RELEASE KAMPUSLIST, ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES FROM ANY CLAIMS OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM OR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
KAMPUSLIST SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
KAMPUSLIST SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL
KAMPUSLIST’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $50 OR THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO KAMPUSLIST IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE (12) MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless KampusList from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
Your use of the Platform
Your content or conduct
Your interactions or transactions with other users
Your violation of these Terms or applicable law
12. Termination
KampusList may suspend or terminate access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice.
Provisions intended to survive termination — including disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — shall survive.
13. Dispute Resolution
Dispute resolution procedures, including binding arbitration and class-action waivers, may apply where permitted by law and will be specified based on applicable jurisdiction.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which KampusList operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
